Tetris is a puzzle game in which players need to tactically arrange shapes, known as tetriminos, into lines.

Each time the player clears a line, the line is removed and the players score is increased.

As there is a finite amount of space to work with, the player must clear lines to continue playing. If the vertical stack of pieces is too high, the game is over.

For every 10 lines cleared, the level increases. The amount of points scored for making a line increases with each level. However, the speed at which the tetrimino drops also increases.

Players score more points for clearing multiple lines at once. Clearing 4 lines at once is known as a 'tetris'.

Players can score additional points for 'dropping' the piece.
